Andrew Ranger (born November 20, 1986) is a Canadian professional race car driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Canada Series. He drives the No. 27 car for IAS, sponsored by Paillé Course//Racing. Andrew is a very experienced driver in the Canada Series. He has won 33 races and three championships in 2007, 2009, and 2019.
Racing Career Highlights
Andrew Ranger started his racing journey at a young age. He quickly showed he was a talented driver.
Early Success
Andrew was the Canadian Karting champion in 2002. In 2003, he won the North American Fran Am 2000 Pro Championship. He then moved to the Toyota Atlantic series in 2004. He drove the No. 27 car, just like famous Quebec drivers Gilles Villeneuve and Jacques Villeneuve. Andrew finished in the top three six times and was named Rookie of the Year.
Champ Car Series
In 2005, Andrew Ranger joined the Champ Car World Series. He was the youngest driver ever to finish in the top three in a Champ Car race. He placed second at Monterrey. He finished 10th in the overall points championship that year. He continued with Conquest Racing in 2006. He again finished 10th in the standings, with his best finish being 5th.
NASCAR Adventures
When Champ Car merged with another series, Andrew Ranger switched to stock car racing. He joined the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007. He drove the No. 27 Ford. He won his second race in the series at Mosport International Raceway. He also won the season championship that year!
In 2009, Andrew had an amazing year in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. He won six races, including his first-ever oval race at SunValley Speedway. He also earned two pole positions, meaning he started in first place. Andrew won his second championship by a large margin.
Andrew also raced in other NASCAR series. He competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (now Xfinity Series). In 2009, he finished 3rd in a big race in Montreal. In 2010, he won races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West. He was the first driver to win in all three NASCAR regional touring series in one year!
In 2011, Andrew raced in the ARCA Racing Series and won a race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. He also made his debut in the top-level Sprint Cup Series (now Cup Series). He finished 35th at Watkins Glen.
Andrew continued to race in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and other events. He won two Canadian Tire events in Quebec in 2012. He also won the ARCA event at New Jersey Motorsports Park for the third year in a row in 2013.
From 2014 to 2019, Andrew drove for DJK Racing. He won his third NASCAR Pinty's Series championship in 2019. After a break in 2020, he returned to the series in 2021. He continues to be a top driver in the NASCAR Canada Series.
