Andrew Neil Hamilton, born on May 28, 1954, is a talented British comedian, writer, and actor. He's known for his funny shows on radio and TV, and for being a voice in popular cartoons. He also directs TV shows and writes books.

Early Life and School Days
Andy Hamilton grew up in Fulham, a part of West London. He went to Westminster City School, which was a grammar school at the time. Later, he studied English at Downing College, Cambridge University. While there, he was part of the Cambridge University Light Entertainment Society, where he started performing.
Andy's Amazing Career
Andy Hamilton first became known for his performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the 1970s. Before joining the BBC in 1976, he worked at places like Harrods and the Post Office.
Radio Fun and Games
Andy has done a lot of work on BBC Radio 4. Early on, he worked on shows like Week Ending and The News Huddlines. He also appeared in The Million Pound Radio Show with Nick Revell.
He's a regular on popular quiz shows like The News Quiz and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. Since 1995, Andy has written and starred as Satan in the Radio 4 comedy Old Harry's Game. In this show, he plays the main character. In 2017 and 2018, BBC Radio 4 broadcast Andy Hamilton Sort of Remembers, a series where he shared funny stories about childhood, politics, and animals.

On television, Andy has helped create many comedy shows. He co-created The Kit Curran Radio Show, Drop the Dead Donkey, and the very popular family comedy Outnumbered with Guy Jenkin.
You might also know his voice from some famous cartoons! He is the voice of Dr Elephant, the dentist, in the animated series Peppa Pig. He was also the original voice of Bob Fish, another dentist, in the cartoon Bob and Margaret. Plus, he voices Captain Squid, the pirate, in the children's show Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom.
In 2007, he even co-hosted BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour as part of a special Comic Relief fundraising event. In 2009, he presented the BBC Four series It's Only a Theory with Reginald D. Hunter.
Andy's Personal Life
Andy Hamilton married Libby Asher in 1988. They have three children together. He is also a big fan of Chelsea Football Club.
He has a unique story about his right hand. He doesn't have a thumb on it. He once joked on his radio show that it was removed when he was five by a surgeon who thought "symmetry was over-rated."
