A Musical Star from Colombia
Andrés Felipe Rivera Galeano was born in the city of Pereira, Colombia. Music was always a big part of his life. His father is the famous Colombian singer Jhonny Rivera. When Andy was just 12 years old, he started learning about music from his dad. In his free time, he practiced singing and playing the piano.
While his dad was a traditional musician, Andy was drawn to the newer sounds of reggaeton and urbano music. This style of music was becoming very popular in the early 2010s.
First Steps to Fame
In March 2012, Andy released his very first song, "En Busca Con Ella." He worked with his friend, the Colombian artist Pipe Calderon, to create it. This was the beginning of his journey as a professional singer.
A few months later, in July 2012, Andy released a song that would make him a star. His hit song "Te Pintaron Pajaritos" became incredibly popular all over Latin America. The music video for the song has been watched over 97 million times on YouTube. This song made him famous in countries like Argentina, Chile, Spain, and Venezuela.
Becoming a Reggaeton Icon
After the success of "Te Pintaron Pajaritos," Andy kept making music. He teamed up with the Puerto Rican duo Baby Rasta & Gringo for a remix of his song "Si Me Necesitas," which became another huge hit.
In 2013, Andy's career reached new heights. He released the song "Los Perros se Enamoran" with the famous singer Nicky Jam. Later that year, he released "Espina de Rosa" with Dalmata. This song was an even bigger success, with its music video getting over 167 million views on YouTube. It was the number one song in many Spanish-speaking countries.
In 2014, Andy joined forces with Kevin Roldan and Maluma for the song "Salgamos." The music video for this song is one of his most popular, with more than 459 million views on YouTube.
