Early Life and Music Beginnings
Justin Quiles was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to a family from Puerto Rico. He spent part of his childhood in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, before moving back to Connecticut for high school. Due to family difficulties, he and his mother returned to Puerto Rico.
Quiles started writing songs when he was only 13 years old. He was inspired by the music his older brother listened to, which included artists like Wisin & Yandel, Tego Calderón, and Don Omar, as well as genres like salsa and hip hop.
To follow his dream of becoming a singer, Quiles moved back to Puerto Rico. He later moved to Orlando, where he recorded his first single, "Algo Contigo." This was an important step in starting his professional music career.
Music Career
2015–2017: Rise to Fame
In 2015, Quiles released his first album, Carpe Diem. That same year, his single "Me Curare" became very popular, especially after a remix with the Colombian singer Maluma.
His second album, La Promesa (The Promise), came out in 2016. It was a huge success, reaching the #1 spot on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart. The album's biggest hit was "Si Ella Quisiera," which became a platinum-certified song in Spain.
During this time, Quiles also explored the new genre of Latin trap music. In 2017, he released the song "Crecia" with Bad Bunny and Almighty. He also performed his song "Egoista" at the Premios Juventud awards show, showing how much his popularity had grown.
2018–Present: Continued Success
