Farruko's Music Journey

How Farruko Started His Music Career

Farruko began making music in 2009. He used websites like Myspace to connect with fans. This helped him become a popular singer. In 2011, he sang with José Feliciano on a song called "Su Hija Me Gusta". Farruko's music often spoke to young people. As his songs became popular online, radio stations in Puerto Rico started playing them. This helped him become well-known in the reggaeton music world.

Early Hit Songs and Collaborations

In 2012, Farruko was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. This was for his urban music album. In 2014, two of his songs became big hits. These were "Passion Whine" and "6 AM", both with J Balvin. "6 AM" especially changed Farruko's career. Both songs reached the top spots on music charts. "Passion Whine" stayed on the Monitor Latino list for 26 weeks. "6 AM" earned Farruko more Latin Grammy nominations.

Farruko has sung on many popular songs. These include "Krippy Kush" and "Pepas". He has worked with many famous artists. Some of them are Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj, and Ricky Martin.

In 2014, Farruko and his manager started a music company. It is called Carbon Fiber Music. By 2022, this company had nine artists signed to it.

On June 24, 2021, Farruko released his song "Pepas". This song has been streamed over a billion times on Spotify. It mixes tribal guarachero and reggaeton styles.

Farruko's Faith and New Music

In February 2022, Farruko gave a speech during a concert in Miami. He talked about his faith and asked for forgiveness for some of his song lyrics. He said that "Farru is retired and Carlos is here now." He offered refunds to unhappy fans. However, Farruko did not actually retire. He started performing again in May 2023. In 2024, he began releasing songs with Christian-based lyrics.

Farruko's Personal Life

Farruko became a Christian in 2022. He spoke about his faith in an interview that same year. He said, "I'm a human who was falling, who wasn't doing the right thing. Now I got up and I'm strong, and you can, too." He also shared how his faith helped him fix things with his family.
