Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado (born May 2, 1991), known as Farruko, is a singer from Puerto Rico. He became famous by working with other big artists like Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and Don Omar. Farruko first became well-known in 2010 with his album El Talento del Bloque.

Farruko's Music Journey

Starting Out (2007–2011)

Farruko began his music career in 2009. He has said that Myspace, an old social media website, helped him find his first fans. These fans helped him become a popular singer. In 2011, Farruko sang with José Feliciano on a song called "Su Hija Me Gusta".

As Farruko's music style grew, he often made songs for younger people about relationships. His songs became very popular online. Soon, radio stations in Puerto Rico noticed his online fame. They started playing his music for more people. This helped him become a strong voice in the reggaeton music scene.

Big Hits and New Directions (2012–2024)

Farruko was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2012 for his urban music album. In 2014, his songs "Passion Whine" and "6 AM" were huge hits. Both songs featured J Balvin. "6 AM" especially changed Farruko's career for the better. These songs reached the top spots on music charts. "Passion Whine" stayed on the Top Latin Songs list for 26 weeks! "6 AM" also earned him more nominations at the Premios Juventud and Latin Grammy Awards.

Farruko has sung on many popular songs. These include "Krippy Kush", "Inolvidable", "Quiéreme", and the "Calma" remix. He has worked with many famous artists. Some of these include Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Ricky Martin, and Wisin & Yandel.

In 2014, Farruko and his manager, Franklin Martínez, started their own music company. It is called Carbon Fiber Music. As of 2022, this company had nine artists signed to its label.

On June 24, 2021, Farruko released his very popular song "Pepas". This song has been streamed over one billion times on Spotify. "Pepas" mixes different music styles, including tribal guarachero and reggaeton.

In February 2022, during a concert in Miami, Farruko spoke to his fans about his faith. He shared his personal journey and how his beliefs were changing his music. He explained that his focus was shifting. Farruko continued performing in May 2023. In 2024, he began releasing music with lyrics based on his Christian faith.

Personal Life

Farruko became a Christian in 2022. He talked about his faith in an interview that same year. He said, 'Look, I’m a human who was falling, who wasn’t doing the right thing. Now I got up and I’m strong, and you can, too.' He also shared how his faith helped him make up with his family.
