Andrew Patrick Rose, born on February 13, 1990, is a football coach and a former professional player. He used to play as a midfielder. Andy was born in Australia but moved to England when he was young. He played for the youth teams of Bristol City. Later, he moved to the United States. In 2012, he started his professional career with Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer. After he stopped playing, Andy became an assistant coach for Seattle Sounders FC in 2022.

Andy Rose's Football Journey
Early Years and College Play
Andy Rose was born in Australia to English parents. He moved to England when he was very young. At 14, he joined the youth academy at Bristol City. He played for their Under-18 team. Even though he was born in Australia, Andy is a British citizen.
From 2008 to 2011, Andy played college soccer at UCLA. He was a great player there. In both 2010 and 2011, he was named to the All-Pac-10 Conference First Team. While in college, Andy also played for two USL Premier Development League teams. He played for Seattle Wolves in 2009. Then he played for Ventura County Fusion in 2010 and 2011.
Starting His Professional Career
In 2012, Real Salt Lake picked Andy Rose in the MLS Supplemental Draft. He was the sixth player chosen overall. However, he was soon traded to Seattle Sounders FC. This trade happened in exchange for the rights to another player, Leone Cruz.
On March 13, 2012, the Sounders officially signed Andy to a professional contract. He played his first game for the Sounders on May 5. It was a 1–0 home win against the Philadelphia Union. In 2012, MLSSoccer.com ranked Andy as the 24th best MLS player under 24 years old.
Playing in England and Scotland
In December 2015, Andy decided to move to England. He joined Coventry City in January 2016. He signed a contract with them until June 2017.
On June 13, 2017, Andy signed a one-year contract with Motherwell. This team plays in the Scottish Premiership in Scotland. He signed another one-year contract with Motherwell on May 16, 2018.
Return to Major League Soccer
On December 10, 2018, Vancouver Whitecaps FC got Andy's player rights from Seattle. They gave Seattle $50,000 in General Allocation Money for him. Andy signed with Vancouver on the same day. He officially joined the team on January 1, 2019, for their new season. Andy left the club on January 14, 2022.
Andy Rose: From Player to Coach
Andy Rose has earned important coaching licenses. He holds a UEFA 'A' License. He also has a UEFA Elite Youth 'A' License. He studied hard and earned a master's degree in sports management. He got this degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
In 2021, while still playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC senior team, he also coached. He was the coach for the Under-17 team at the Whitecaps FC Academy. In January 2022, Andy joined Seattle Sounders FC again. This time, he became an assistant coach for the team.
Andy Rose's Life Outside Football
In 2013, Andy received his U.S. green card. This meant he was considered a domestic player for MLS teams.
In 2016, he married Ryan Bradley. Ryan is the younger daughter of Bob Bradley. Bob Bradley is a famous football manager. He used to manage the United States men's national soccer team and Toronto FC.
In November 2016, when Andy was 26 years old, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Andy Rose and his friend Jordan Morris are the only two athletes who played in MLS with this condition.
