Angela R. Bryant (born December 9, 1951) is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Currently, she works for the North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission. This is a full-time job where she helps decide when people can leave prison.
From 2007 to 2018, Angela Bryant was a part of the North Carolina General Assembly. This group is North Carolina's main law-making body.

Angela Bryant's Early Career
Angela Bryant started her work in the North Carolina House of Representatives. This is one part of the North Carolina General Assembly.
Serving in the House
She began representing District 7 in 2007. She was chosen to fill a spot that became open when another politician, Ed Jones, left.
Angela Bryant was very popular with voters. She was re-elected to the House in 2008, 2010, and 2012. This means people voted for her to keep her job multiple times.
Moving to the Senate
In 2013, Angela Bryant moved to the other part of the General Assembly. This is called the North Carolina Senate.
Becoming a State Senator
She was chosen by local Democratic leaders to fill a Senate seat. This seat had become open after the 2012 election. Governor Pat McCrory then officially appointed her.
As a state senator, she represented District 4. This district included people living in Halifax, Nash, Vance, Warren, and Wilson counties. She served in the Senate until March 2018.
