Angels & Airwaves (often called AvA) is an American alternative rock band. It was started in 2005 by Tom DeLonge, who was the singer and guitarist for the popular band Blink-182.

Tom DeLonge formed Angels & Airwaves to create new music. He wanted to make songs that sounded big and inspiring. The band's music often has long introductions. These intros use guitars, synthesizers, drums, and keyboards. Many fans enjoy their live shows.

Early Albums and Touring

Angels & Airwaves released their first album, We Don't Need To Whisper, in 2006. Their second album, I-Empire, came out in 2007. This album had a lighter feel and faster songs.

The band has toured a lot. They have played at big music festivals like the Vans Warped Tour. Touring allows them to share their music with many fans.

Playing Old Favorites

Sometimes, Tom DeLonge plays parts of songs from his old band, Blink-182. He often plays slower versions of songs like "Down" or "I Miss You". He usually performs these songs by himself with just his guitar. This is a way to show respect to his former bandmates.
