Angus Turner Jones (born October 8, 1993) is an American actor. He is best known for playing Jake Harper on the TV show Two and a Half Men. For this role, he won two Young Artist Awards and a TV Land Award.

Becoming an Actor

Angus T. Jones started acting when he was very young. His first movie role was in 1999, when he was just five years old. The film was called Simpatico.

From 2001 to 2003, he appeared in several other movies. These included See Spot Run, The Rookie, and Bringing Down the House. He also acted in George of the Jungle 2 and The Christmas Blessing.

Starring in Two and a Half Men

In 2003, Angus got a big role in the TV show Two and a Half Men. He played Jake Harper, who was the "half man" in the show's title. Jake was a 10-year-old boy living with his dad and uncle.

The show was very popular in the United States. It was watched by about 15 million people on average.

In 2010, when Angus was 17, he became the highest-paid child star on television. His new contract for Two and a Half Men paid him $7.8 million over two seasons. This meant he earned $300,000 for each of the 26 episodes.

In the ninth season of the show, his character Jake graduated from high school. Jake then joined the army.

In 2012, Angus decided he no longer wanted to be on Two and a Half Men. He felt the show did not fit with his personal beliefs. He even suggested that people stop watching it.

After some time, Angus decided to leave the show officially in 2014. He said he felt like a "paid hypocrite" because of his beliefs. However, he did return for a short appearance in the very last episode of the show in 2015.

Life After Acting

After leaving Two and a Half Men, Angus T. Jones went to college. He attended the University of Colorado Boulder.

In 2016, he joined the management team of a company called Tonite. This company works on multimedia and event production.

Later in 2016, Angus said he was no longer part of certain faith-based groups. He also shared that he was interested in acting again.

Helping Others

Angus T. Jones has used his fame to help many causes.

In 2008, he supported the First Star Organization. This group helps children who have been abused or neglected. He also joined other famous people at the "Rock 'N Roll Fantasy Camp" that year.

He attended a benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. This hospital helps children with serious illnesses.

In 2009, his co-star from Two and a Half Men, Jon Cryer, gave Angus an award. It was the Rising Star of 2009 award from Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Angus has also supported the Be A Star anti-bullying alliance. This group was started by The Creative Coalition and WWE.
