The Anima Nipissing River is a cool river found in Ontario, Canada. It's also known as the Red Squirrel River. This river flows through the Nipissing District and is located in the townships of Aston and Banting, which are part of the Temagami area.

The River's Journey

Where the Anima Nipissing River Starts

The Anima Nipissing River begins its journey at the southern end of Anima Nipissing Lake. This starting point is quite high up, at an elevation of about 300 m (980 ft).

Flowing Through Lakes and Roads

From Anima Nipissing Lake, the river flows towards the southwest. It then enters another body of water called McLean Lake. After leaving McLean Lake, the river appears near Red Squirrel Road. It actually follows alongside this road for about 2.5 km (1.6 mi).

The river continues its path south and flows into Red Squirrel Lake. It doesn't stay there long! It exits the lake from its northwest side.

The River's End

After leaving Red Squirrel Lake, the river travels for another 3.2 km (2.0 mi). Its journey ends when it reaches Ferguson Bay, which is part of the much larger Lake Temagami.

How Long is the River?

In total, the Anima Nipissing River stretches for about 14 km (8.7 mi) from its source to where it joins Lake Temagami.
