Exploring the Anna River's Path

The Anna River starts in a marshy area called Anna Marsh. This marsh is located in eastern Au Train Township. From its source, the river first flows towards the southeast.

Where the River Flows

After its initial path, the Anna River turns mostly east. It then receives water from Mud Lake. Another stream, Valley Spur Creek, also joins the river. Later, Wagner Creek adds its waters near the famous Wagner Falls Scenic Site. The river then turns north and flows into the city of Munising. Some parts of the Anna River even run through the Hiawatha National Forest.
