Anna Maureen Barth Shaffer (born on March 15, 1992) is an English actress. She became well-known for playing Romilda Vane in the Harry Potter movies from 2009 to 2011. She also played Ruby Button in the TV show Hollyoaks from 2011 to 2018. Since 2019, she has been playing Triss Merigold in the Netflix series The Witcher.

Anna Shaffer was born in North London, England. Her parents are from South Africa. She has one brother.
She went to Highgate Wood School. Later, she finished her advanced studies, called A Levels, at the Camden School for Girls.

Joining the Harry Potter Films
On December 19, 2007, Anna Shaffer was chosen for a role in the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. She played Romilda Vane, a student who tried to use a love potion on Harry Potter.
She played this role again in two more Harry Potter films:

Starring in Hollyoaks
In December 2010, news came out that 18-year-old Anna Shaffer would join the cast of Hollyoaks. This is a popular TV soap opera. She played Ruby, who was the sister of a character named Duncan Button.
Anna moved to Liverpool, where Hollyoaks is filmed, for this role. Her first episode as Ruby aired on January 3, 2011. She left Hollyoaks in 2014 but came back for short visits in November 2017 and April 2018.
In October 2013, Anna shared that she would be leaving Hollyoaks for good. She said she wanted a "new, fresh beginning" and missed her family and London. Her last episode as Ruby was on February 13, 2014.
