From 1938 to 1941, Anne studied at East Sydney Technical College. There, she learned from famous artists like William Dobell.

Art Career and Exhibitions

In the early 1940s, Anne Wienholt started showing her art. She had exhibitions at places like the Macquarie Galleries. She was also part of a group of artists called the Merioola Group.

In 1944, Anne won a special award. It was called the New South Wales Travelling Art Scholarship. This scholarship allowed her to travel to New York City.

In New York, she continued her art studies. She learned at the Art Students League of New York. She also studied at a famous printmaking workshop called Atelier 17.

From 1948 to 1950, her prints were shown in big exhibitions. These were held at the Brooklyn Museum.

Later Life and Legacy

In 1948, Anne Wienholt married Masato Takashige. He was a cabinetmaker from Japan. They lived together in California, USA.

Anne Wienholt passed away on March 27, 2018. She died in San Rafael, California.

In 2019, a special art show honored her work. It was held at the College of Marin Fine Arts Gallery. This show looked back at all her amazing art.

Today, her artworks are kept in important museums. These include the National Gallery of Australia. Her art is also at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
