Early Life and Culinary Training
Anthony Amoroso grew up in an Italian-American family. His hometown was Jersey City, New Jersey. When he was 18, he decided he wanted to become a chef. He told his mother about his dream. After that, he went to cooking school. He studied at the Culinary Arts Institute. This school is part of Hudson County Community College.

Working in New York City
Later, Chef Amoroso moved to New York City. There, he worked with a well-known chef named Rick Moonen. He started as a sous chef, which is like a second-in-command in the kitchen. Then, he became a chef de cuisine at a restaurant called Oceana. This means he was in charge of the kitchen. He continued working with Chef Moonen at another restaurant, Branzini. He was even named Executive Chef to open a new restaurant called RM Seafood.
Moving to Las Vegas
In 2003, Chef Amoroso moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He was hired by Chef Michael White. His job was to be the opening Executive Chef at Fiamma Trattoria and Bar. This restaurant was inside the MGM Grand Las Vegas hotel. In 2005, he moved to the Bellagio hotel. There, he became the Executive Chef at Michael Mina's restaurant. Winning Iron Chef America
While working at Michael Mina's restaurant, Chef Amoroso got a big chance. He appeared on the Food Network TV show Iron Chef America. This show is a cooking competition. Return to the East Coast
