Hilton Hotels facts for kids
Hilton Hotels is a well-known brand of hotels found all over the world. It offers places to stay for both business travelers and people on vacation.
For many years, the Hilton Hotels brand was split into two separate companies. One part was based in the United States, and the other part, which handled international hotels, was based in the United Kingdom. In February 2006, these two parts came back together. The U.S. company bought the international hotel business, making Hilton a single, worldwide hotel family once again. This happened over 40 years after they first separated in 1966.

A Global Hotel Family
Hilton Hotels made history in 1943 by becoming the first hotel chain in America to have hotels from one coast to the other. This meant you could find a Hilton hotel across the entire country.
Today, Hilton has many hotels around the globe. As of April 2007, there were 229 Hilton-branded hotels worldwide. Hilton also works with many airlines and car rental companies. This makes it easier for travelers to book their trips and stays all at once.
More Than Just Hotels
While Hilton is very popular for people traveling for work, it also has many resorts and hotels designed for fun vacations. These hotels offer a variety of services and amenities for different types of travelers, whether they are on a business trip or enjoying a holiday.
