Anthony Gatto facts for kids

Anthony Gatto, born Anthony Commarota on April 14, 1973, is an amazing American juggler. He holds many world records for juggling! He started performing in Las Vegas when he was just ten years old.

Becoming a Juggling Star

Anthony was born in Manhattan, New York, and grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland. He learned to juggle at age three from his stepfather, Nick Gatto. Nick was a retired performer from Vaudeville, a type of variety show. By age five, Anthony was already better than his stepfather! He was a true juggling child prodigy. By age nine, he was world-class and won a gold medal at Circus Mondial in Paris.

Anthony first appeared on TV at age eight on the show That's Incredible!. When he was 13, he placed third in a competition at the 39th annual convention of the International Jugglers Association. His family moved to Las Vegas when he was 14. This move helped him find many chances to perform and grow his career.

Anthony's Juggling Career

In 1998, Anthony Gatto met Danielle, who later became his wife and assistant. Danielle was a professional dancer. She learned circus skills to perform with Anthony on his tours. Anthony and Danielle got married in 1999 and now have two children.

Anthony performed in the show Midnight Fantasy when it started in 1999. He juggled without speaking much. He quickly juggled hula hoops, threw clubs swiftly, and aimed balls into baskets. People loved his juggling acts the most.

In 2000, Anthony became the first and only juggler to win the Golden Clown award. This is a very important prize at the 24th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo. From 2007 to 2009, Anthony performed in Cirque du Soleil's show Koozå. He was also part of Cirque du Soleil's show La Nouba from 2010 to 2012.

In 2012, Anthony Gatto stopped performing with Cirque du Soleil. He decided to start his own business. He now runs a concrete resurfacing company called "Big Top Concrete Resurfacing LLC." He uses his birth name, Anthony Commarota, for the business. It was founded in August 2012 and is located in Orlando, Florida.
