Anthony Wallace was born on January 26, 1989. He is an American soccer player. He usually plays as a left back or a midfielder.
Career
Professional Teams
Anthony Wallace started his professional soccer career in Major League Soccer (MLS). He joined as a special 'Generation Adidas' player. This program helps young, talented players join the league. FC Dallas chose him as the ninth player overall in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. He first played for FC Dallas on September 15, 2007. It was a game against the New England Revolution.
On July 30, 2010, Wallace moved to the Colorado Rapids. He was traded for some future draft picks. Later, in November 2010, the Portland Timbers picked him in a special draft. But they immediately traded him back to Colorado. While with the Colorado Rapids, Anthony played in 23 league games. He helped the team win their first ever MLS Cup in 2010.
On February 10, 2014, Wallace signed with the NASL team, Tampa Bay Rowdies. He scored his first professional goal on May 24, 2014. This goal helped the Rowdies win 3–2 against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. He played in 25 games for Tampa Bay and scored one goal.
On March 27, 2015, Wallace joined the New York Red Bulls in MLS. He had a successful tryout with the team. The very next day, he played his first game for New York. They won 2–1 against the Columbus Crew. He scored his first goal for the Red Bulls on July 11, 2015. It was in a big 4–1 win over the New England Revolution. On August 15, 2015, he scored another goal in a 3–0 win against Toronto FC.
During his time with the New York Red Bulls, Wallace also played for their partner team, New York Red Bulls II. He was loaned to them for a short time. On May 3, 2015, he scored his first goal for New York Red Bulls II. It was the winning goal in a 3–2 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. He scored it in the final moments of the game.
On June 10, 2016, Wallace signed with Jacksonville Armada. He played for them for one season. In 2017, he played for USL team Oklahoma City Energy. He left the team on November 21, 2017.
Playing for the United States
Anthony Wallace also played for the United States national soccer teams. He played for the Under-17 and Under-18 teams. He was part of the USA Under-20 National team in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. This big tournament was held in Canada. He played in two group games against Poland. He also played in the knockout stage against Uruguay. In 2011, Wallace played his first game for the senior United States national team.
