Antone Chavez Exum Jr. (born February 27, 1991), also known as Exum, is a musician and a former American football player. He played as a safety. He played college football at Virginia Tech. The Minnesota Vikings picked him in the 2014 NFL draft.

Early Life and Sports
Antone Exum grew up in Glen Allen, Virginia. He went to Deep Run High School. There, he was a star in football, basketball, and track. In 2008, he was named one of the best defensive players in his region.
As a junior, he was great at both offense and defense in football. He threw for 860 yards and ran for 658 yards. He scored 25 touchdowns. On defense, he made 20 tackles and caught three interceptions. In his senior year, he gained 2,357 all-purpose yards. He scored 30 touchdowns, including six from returns.
Exum also played basketball and ran track. In 2009, he won first place in the 100 and 200-meter races at a track meet. Experts thought he was one of the top athletes in his class.
College Football Career
Exum played college football at Virginia Tech from 2009 to 2013. In his first year (2009), he didn't play in games. This is called a "redshirt" year.
In 2010, he played in all 14 games. He started five games as a free safety. He made 45 tackles and broke up nine passes. In 2011, he was one of the best safeties in the ACC. He led his team with 89 tackles. He also had one interception and two forced fumbles.
For the 2012 season, Exum moved to play cornerback. He started all 13 games. He made 48 tackles and led the team with five interceptions. He also broke up 16 passes. He was named the MVP of the 2012 Russell Athletic Bowl game. He was also chosen for the second-team All-ACC.
In January 2013, Exum hurt his right knee while playing basketball. He tore his ACL, which is a major knee ligament. This injury kept him from playing for most of the 2013 season. He was cleared to play in October 2013. However, he later sprained his ankle and missed the rest of the season.

Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings picked Antone Exum in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft. Many experts believed he would have been picked earlier if he hadn't been injured.
2014 Season with Vikings
In his first year (2014), Exum played in 15 games. He mostly played on special teams, which are plays like kickoffs and punts. He made 7 tackles on special teams. He finished the season with 6 tackles on defense.
2015 Season with Vikings
In 2015, Exum got his first start in a game against the Atlanta Falcons. He played very well, helping his team win 20-10. He made three tackles and recovered a fumble. In another game, he forced his first fumble in the NFL.
Later Years with Vikings
In 2016, Exum was injured and couldn't play. He was released by the Vikings in 2017.
San Francisco 49ers
In November 2017, Exum signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He re-signed with them in June 2018. In Week 4 of the 2018 season, he made his first career interception. He also scored a touchdown on that play!
He continued to play for the 49ers in 2019. He was released and re-signed a few times that year. He was waived by the 49ers in January 2020.

Music Career
After his football career, Antone Exum started making music. He began working with a producer named Erik Samkopf in 2018. His music has been called "surreal pop" by The Guardian newspaper. His song Arrest The Dancer was first played on a radio show in May 2021.
