Pedro Antonio Giménez Cortés (born January 2, 1975), known as Antón Jiménez, is a famous Spanish flamenco guitarist. He is also a talented composer. Antón started his career playing with big names like Diego el Cigala and Joaquín Cortés. He toured all over the world with them. In 1995, he won the National Guitar Award. He is also a special member of the International Music Council CILM - UNESCO. Antón worked on an album called "The New School Of Flamenco Guitar." This album was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2003. He has also written music for the Ballet Nacional de España and other dance groups.

Antón Jiménez's Life and Music
Antón Jiménez was born in Madrid in 1975. He comes from a family of famous guitarists. His ancestors include Ramón Montoya and Mario Escudero. Antón grew up in Madrid's Lavapiés neighborhood and also in Córdoba.
When he was 14, in 1988, Mario Escudero introduced him at a festival called "Los Veranos de la Villa." By the time he was 17, Antón started writing his own music.
Touring the World
Antón began his career playing with top artists. He toured internationally with flamenco singer Diego el Cigala. He also played with dancer Joaquín Cortés on his "Cibayí" and "Pasión Gitana" tours.
During these tours, Antón performed in many famous places. These included the Radio City Music Hall in New York. He also played at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Other big venues were the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Tokyo Forum.
Working with Famous Artists
Antón Jiménez has played with many different artists. He performed with the rock band U2 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. He also worked with the violinist Vanessa-Mae on her album "Storm."
In 2003, Antón contributed to an album called "The New School Of Flamenco Guitar." He played on three songs for this album. It was later nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2003.

Antón has also been involved in films. In 1995, he played the farruca (a type of flamenco dance) with Joaquín Cortés. This was for the movie Flamenco, directed by Carlos Saura.
Later, in 2013, Antón helped direct a documentary film. He also starred in it. The film was called Guitarra de Palo. Other artists like Lola Greco and Raimundo Amador were also in the movie.
