Anutt is a small, quiet place in the western part of Dent County, in the state of Missouri. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Think of it like a neighborhood that's not part of a bigger city.

Where is Anutt Located?
Anutt is found in the beautiful state of Missouri, specifically in Dent County. It sits on a ridge, which is like a long, narrow hilltop. You can find it where two roads, Route O and Route C, meet.
It's about 15 miles south of a bigger town called Rolla. If you travel south on Route C for about 4.5 miles, you'll reach the community of Lenox. To the west, about 7 miles away in Phelps County, is Edgar Springs. And if you head east, Salem is about 12 miles away.
A Look Back: Anutt's History
Anutt has a simple but interesting history. A post office was first opened here in 1890. This post office served the community for many years, helping people send and receive mail, until it finally closed in 1963.
The community got its name from a special person: Annet Lenox. She was a local educator, meaning she was a teacher or someone involved in schools in the area. Naming the community after her was a way to honor her contributions.
In 1925, Anutt was a bit more populated than it is today, with 137 people living there.
