History of Edgar Springs
A post office has been open in Edgar Springs since 1866. The community got its name from a nearby natural spring. This spring was on land owned by a person named John Edgar.
Geography and Location
Edgar Springs is located in the Salem Plateau region. This area is part of the Ozarks in Missouri. The city is right on U.S. Route 63. It sits at the southern edge of the Mark Twain National Forest.
The city of Rolla is about 18 miles north of Edgar Springs. Licking, which is in Texas County, is 13 miles to the south.
