History
How Aragon Got Its Name
Aragon got its name from a special mineral called aragonite. This mineral was found in the area. A post office opened in Aragon in 1899. The city officially became a city in 1914.
Past and Present
Aragon used to have a large mill. This mill was an important part of the city's history. Today, the mill is closed. In 2008, a very strong storm, an EF3 tornado, hit the northern part of the city. Sadly, two people lost their lives.
