Arantzazu is a small town and municipality in northern Spain. It is located in the Basque Country, a special region, and is part of the Biscay province. The town's name in Spanish is Aránzazu.

The name Arantzazu comes from the Basque language. It means 'place of hawthorn'. Hawthorn is a type of thorny bush.
Interestingly, there's another place with the same name in Oñati, Gipuzkoa. That Arantzazu is famous for its Sanctuary of Arantzazu, a very important religious site.
