Arbovale is a small place in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
Arbovale is located about 12 miles (19 km) south of a place called Durbin. It used to have its own post office, but that closed down in 2007.
What's in a Name?
The name Arbovale comes from a person named Adam Arbogast. He was one of the first people to settle in the valley where Arbovale is located. So, "Arbovale" basically means "Arbogast's valley."
Weather in Arbovale
The weather in Arbovale is generally mild. This means there aren't huge differences between the highest and lowest temperatures. It also gets a good amount of rain throughout the year. This type of weather is sometimes called a "marine west coast climate." It's similar to what you might find in some coastal areas, even though Arbovale is inland.
