Arcadia is a small village located in Valley County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 283 people lived there. It's a quiet place with a rich history.

A Look Back in Time

Arcadia was officially planned and marked out in 1885. This happened because everyone knew a railroad was coming soon. The village's name was chosen earlier, in 1874. Sarah Coulter Hawthorne, who was the postmaster, picked the name. She thought "Arcadia" meant "feast of flowers." She chose it because of the many wild roses growing nearby. It turns out the name actually refers to a peaceful, natural place, which still fits Arcadia well!
