Famous Paintings
- Altarpiece for Barcelona: In 1346, Arnau painted a large altarpiece for the shoemakers' group in Barcelona. An altarpiece is a piece of art placed behind the altar in a church. This artwork was first in the city's main cathedral. Later, it was moved to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Manresa.
- St. James Retablo: In 1347, Arnau and his father, Ferrer, worked together on a retablo (another type of altarpiece) dedicated to St. James. This artwork was made for the Monastery of Jonqueres. Today, you can see it at the Diocesan Museum of Barcelona.
- La Almudaina Retablo: Arnau also helped paint a retablo for the Royal Palace of La Almudaina in Palma de Mallorca. Sadly, both Arnau and his father died in 1348 from the plague, a serious illness that spread widely at that time. Another artist's workshop, led by Ramón Destorrents, finished this retablo. You can now find this artwork in the National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon, Portugal.
