The Arraglen Ogham Stone is a very old stone. It has special ancient Irish writing on it. This type of writing is called ogham. The stone is located in County Kerry, Ireland. It is also a National Monument, which means it is a very important historical site protected by the country.

Where is the Arraglen Ogham Stone?
The Arraglen Ogham Stone stands in a special spot. It is in a 'saddle' of land. This means it is in a dip between two mountains. These mountains are Mount Brandon and Masatiompan.
History of the Stone
People put up this stone a very long time ago. It was around the years 550 to 600 AD. They used it as a marker for a grave. The writing on it is in an old form of Irish. This old language is called Primitive Irish.
What Does the Stone Look Like?
The stone itself is made of sandstone. It is quite tall, about 1.91 meters (over 6 feet) high. It is also 38 cm wide and 20 cm thick.
The Ogham Writing
The most interesting part is the writing. It is in Ogham script. Ogham uses lines and notches carved into the edge of the stone. It looks a bit like a secret code!
The message carved into the Arraglen Ogham Stone says: "QRIMITIR RO/Ṇ[A]/ṆN MAQ̣ COMOGANN". This means "of the priest Rónán son of Comgán". A "cruimther" was an old Irish word for a priest.
Other Features
The stone also has a circled cross carved into it. This shows that the people who put up the stone were likely Christian.
