The arrondissement of Gourdon is an arrondissement of France. It is part of the Lot département. Its capital is the city of Gourdon.

It is the smallest arrondissement of the department, with an area of 1,487 km2 (574 sq mi). It is also the arrondissement with fewer people living there, with 43,538 inhabitants and a population density of 29.3 inhabitants/km².

History

When the arrondissements were created on 17 February 1800, Gourdon was one of them in the Lot department.

Geography

The arrondissement is bordered to the north by the by the Corrèze (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) department, to the east by the arrondissement of Figeac, to the south by the arrondissement of Cahors and to the west by the Dordogne (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) department.
