Artcirq is a special group of Inuit performers from Igloolik, Nunavut, Canada. They combine modern circus skills with traditional Inuit culture. Artcirq was started in 1998 by Guillaume Saladin, along with circus artists from Montreal and young people from Igloolik. They received help from Igloolik Isuma Productions, which was Canada's first Inuit independent film company, and Cirque Éloize. This group gives Inuit youth a way to express themselves creatively while keeping their strong Inuit traditions alive.
