Arthon-en-Retz was a small town, or commune, located in western France. Its name means "Arthon in Retz". It was part of the Loire-Atlantique area.
On January 1, 2016, Arthon-en-Retz joined with another town to form a new, larger commune called Chaumes-en-Retz. This means it is no longer a separate commune.
Arthon-en-Retz is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) east of Pornic. It is also 39 kilometers (24 miles) west of Nantes. The town is 41 kilometers (25 miles) south of Saint-Nazaire.
