Simpkins became very popular in Chicago. That's where he got his nickname, "Georgia Boy." He could sing all sorts of songs. This included classic tunes and even opera-style songs. He was also special because he could sing in many different languages.

In 1936, he recorded a famous song. It was called "Sing, Sing, Sing (with a Swing)." He made this recording with Fletcher Henderson and His Orchestra.

Television and Live Shows

Arthur Lee Simpkins often appeared on television. He was a regular singer and performer on a show called You Asked For It. He also performed live in many places. He was especially popular in cities like Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Even though he made many recordings, he loved performing live. He continued to entertain audiences for many years.

Later Life

Arthur Lee Simpkins sadly passed away in 1972. He was 65 years old. At the time, he was not as famous as he once was. He left behind his wife, Aurora.
