Ash Gray's Music Journey
Starting on Britain's Got Talent
Ash Gray, then known as Gabz, first appeared on Britain's Got Talent on May 26, 2013. He sang an original song called "The One". Before his performance, he shared that the song was about losing someone important. The judges loved his performance. Simon Cowell said he "absolutely loved that" and thought it was a "cute little song." Ash received four "yes" votes from the judges. This sent him to the next round, and then to the semi-finals.
In the semi-final on May 28, Ash performed "The One" again. This time, he had a backing track and a choir. The judges were very impressed. All four judges voted for Ash, sending him to the final. Ash had the idea to audition for the show himself. He was very happy to get so far in the competition. He hoped to get a record deal to share more of his songs.
In the final, Ash performed a mix of a new song called "Lie There" and "The One." He finished in seventh place.
