Ashurst Lake is a small, natural lake found about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona. It sits on a high area called Anderson Mesa. What makes Ashurst Lake special is that it's one of the few lakes in Arizona that formed naturally, not by human construction.

Unlike many other lakes its size in North Central Arizona, Ashurst Lake gets its water from reliable springs. This means it often stays full, even when there hasn't been much rain for a long time. Because of its steady water supply, it's a popular spot for fishing.

The lake is regularly stocked with fish like rainbow trout. This makes it a favorite place for people who enjoy fishing. You can also find Northern Pike here, which are another popular fish for anglers. The people who take care of the lake's facilities are part of the Coconino National Forest.

Ashurst Lake has two campgrounds for visitors. One is called Ashurst Lake Campground and is on the west side of the lake. The other is Forked Pine Campground, located on the east side. These campgrounds offer a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
