Asier Martínez Echarte is a Spanish athlete born on April 22, 2000. He is well-known for his skills in hurdle races, especially the 110-meter hurdles.
In 2021, Asier became the Spanish indoor champion. He also achieved fourth place in the 60-meter hurdles at the European Indoor Championships that year. During this event, he set a new personal best time of 7.60 seconds.
In May 2021, he ran his fastest 110-meter hurdles race yet in Castellón, finishing in 13.34 seconds. Soon after, he won the 110-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Team Championships. He earned a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics (which happened in 2021) by coming second in the Spanish championships. He met the time needed to qualify for the Olympics. Asier also competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he made it to the semi-finals.
