Early Life and Training
Asier Polo was born in Bilbao, Spain. He started learning the cello there with Professor Elisa Pascu. He was very talented from a young age.
In 1987 and 1989, he won first prizes. These were for cello and chamber music in a national competition for young musicians. After that, he continued his studies at important music schools. He studied at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. He also learned from great teachers like Maria Kliegel and Ivan Monighetti.
Asier Polo also took special classes with famous cellists. These included Natalia Gutman and Mstislav Rostropovich. He also studied chamber music with members of the Amadeus Quartet.
Performing Around the World
Since his studies, Asier Polo has performed a lot. He has played as a solo artist and in recitals. His concerts have taken him across Europe, Asia, and America. He performed with the singer Alfredo Kraus in many famous places. These included Covent Garden in London and the Musikverein in Vienna.
