Astoria is a small town located in Fulton County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, about 929 people lived there.
The town has an interesting history with its name. It was first called Washington in 1836. Then, in 1837, it was moved and renamed Vienna. Finally, in 1839, it became Astoria. The town was named after John Jacob Astor, a very rich person who was famous for his fur trading business. People believed he owned land near the town.

Astoria is found in the southwestern part of Fulton County. A main road, U.S. Route 24, goes right through the middle of the town.
This road can take you to other nearby places. If you go northeast, you'll reach Lewistown, which is the main town for the county. It's about 18 miles away. If you head southwest, you'll get to Rushville, which is about 15 miles from Astoria.
