Attila Gábor Csihar (born March 29, 1971) is a singer from Hungary. He is also known as Void. He is famous for his unique singing style in heavy metal music. Attila is best known for being the singer of the Norwegian band Mayhem. He also sings for the American band Sunn O))). People describe his voice as very powerful and operatic.

Attila's Music Journey
Attila started his music career in 1985. He joined a Hungarian metal band called Tormentor. This band became very popular in the black metal music scene. Their first album, Anno Domini, came out in 1988. Tormentor played many live shows and became well-known in Hungary.
After Tormentor, Attila started a band called Plasma Pool in 1990. This band played a different style of music, mixing electronic and industrial sounds.
Later, Attila joined the band Mayhem. His special way of singing added a unique sound to their music. He did not perform live with Mayhem until 2004.
Attila continued to work with many different bands. These included Plasma Pool, Aborym, and Korog. He even performed in a rock opera called Jesus Christ Superstar in Hungary. He said he felt honored to sing in it. He also played with the band Keep of Kalessin.
He is also a member of the American band Sunn O))). He first performed with them in 2003. His first recorded songs with Sunn O))) were in 2004. He sang in Sanskrit on their album White2. Attila has sung on five albums with Sunn O))) and performed live with them many times.
In 2004, Attila rejoined Mayhem as their main singer. Their album Ordo ad Chao won a Spellemannprisen award in 2007. This award is like the Norwegian Grammy. Since then, Mayhem has toured all over the world.
In 2008, he started another music project called Gravetemple. He worked with Stephen O'Malley from Sunn O))) and Oren Ambarchi.
Attila also has a solo project called Void ov Voices. He started it in 2008. He has performed his solo music at many events. He has also toured in Japan and Australia.
He has worked with many other artists too. Some of these include Current 93, Jarboe, and Ulver.
From 2016 to 2018, Attila was part of a supergroup called Sinsaenum. A supergroup is a band made of famous musicians from other bands. He was one of the main singers. The band released their first album, Echoes of the Tortured, in 2016.
In 2019, he started a new project called Hiedelem. He works with drummer Balázs Pándi in this project.
Attila also took part in a live music show in 2019. It was for the album Canticles of the Holy Scythe by Lüüp. He performed with a group of 14 musicians.
Life Outside Music
Attila Csihar is also an electrical engineer. He used to teach math and physics.
He has worked in film production. He helped with the movie Spy Game. In 2018, a movie called Lords of Chaos was made about the early black metal scene in Norway. Attila was played by his own son, Arion, in the movie.
Attila is a vegetarian. This means he does not eat meat.
