Attila Csihar started his music journey in 1985. He joined a Hungarian metal band called Tormentor. This band became very popular among fans of heavy metal music. Their first album, Anno Domini, came out in 1988. Tormentor played many live shows between 1986 and 1990. They became one of the most well-known bands in Hungary.

After Tormentor, Attila started an electronic music band called Plasma Pool. This was from 1990 to 1994. Because of his work with Tormentor, he was asked to sing on an album. This album was De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas by the Norwegian band Mayhem. He joined them after a sad event involving their previous singer. His unique way of singing added a special sound to Mayhem's music. Attila did not perform live with Mayhem until he rejoined them in 2004.
