About Audencia Business School
Audencia is known for being a top business school. It helps students learn about business, management, and how to work in different companies. The school's motto is "Never stop daring," which means always be brave and try new things.
What is a Grande École?
In France, a "grande école" is a special kind of university. These schools are very selective. They are separate from the main public university system. Getting into a grande école is very competitive. Many students who graduate from these schools go on to hold important jobs in France.
History of Audencia
Audencia Business School has a long history. It was started in 1900. Back then, it was called the École Supérieure de Commerce de Nantes.
For many years, the school was in a building that is now a natural history museum. In the 1970s, it moved to a new, bigger campus. This campus is located north of the city center in Nantes.
In 2000, the school changed its name to Audencia Nantes School of Management. The name "Audencia" mixes two Latin words. "Audientia" means "listening," and "audacia" means "boldness."
Since 2004, Audencia has worked with the United Nations Global Compact. This is a UN program that encourages businesses to follow ten important rules. These rules are about human rights, good working conditions, and protecting the environment.
In 2016, the school changed its name again to Audencia Business School. This new name includes all its different study programs.
