Aywaille is a lovely town located in the province of Liège, Belgium. It's part of a region called Wallonia.
As of January 1, 2012, about 11,697 people lived in Aywaille. The town covers an area of 80.04 square kilometers. This means there are about 146 people living in each square kilometer.
A big part of Aywaille, almost half, is covered by forests and wild areas. About 30% is farmland, and the rest, about 24%, is where buildings and homes are.
The people who live in Aywaille are called "Aqualiens." This name comes from an old Latin phrase, "Aqualia loca." It means "area full of water" or "muddy land," which tells us a bit about the history of the place!
