BAFTA Award for Best Casting
Presented by British Academy of Film and Television Arts
Country United Kingdom
Currently held by Sean Baker & Samantha Quan for Anora (2024)

The BAFTA Award for Best Casting is a special prize given out each year at the British Academy Film Awards. It celebrates the amazing work of casting directors. These are the people who find the perfect actors for every role in a movie.

This award was first given out at the 73rd British Academy Film Awards in 2020. It was created to recognize how important casting is to making great films.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) decided to add this award in 2019. Pippa Harris, who leads BAFTA, said that casting is super important for movies. She also mentioned that it helps make sure different kinds of people are shown on screen. This award helps everyone understand the big role casting directors play.

In the lists below, the films and names in bold with a gold background are the winners. The other names were nominated for the award. The years shown are when the films were released, not when the award ceremony happened. The ceremony always takes place the next year.
