History of the Award
The BAFTA Award for Best British Short Animation has changed a bit over the years.
Award Name Changes
When the award first started, it was called Best Short Animation. Later, it was known as Best Short Animation Film. Since 2014, its official name has been Best British Short Animation.
Number of Nominees
The number of films nominated for this award has also changed. In the beginning, it was common to have four nominated films. This happened for about ten years. More recently, usually three films are nominated each year. The most nominations ever was in 1997, when six films were chosen.
