About BP Fallon

BP Fallon became well-known in Ireland at a young age. He started as a broadcaster and later worked in music journalism and photography.

Early Life and Career

In the late 1960s, BP Fallon moved to London to work as a journalist. In March 1969, he got a big interview with John Lennon during his famous 'bed-in' in Amsterdam. This interview was published in a music magazine called Melody Maker.

This led to another interview with John Lennon and a job at Apple Records. He worked there with a publicist named Derek Taylor. In 1970, BP Fallon even appeared on a TV show called Top of the Pops. He pretended to play the tambourine during John Lennon's performance of "Instant Karma!". In another video clip, he was shown pretending to play the bass guitar.

Working with Music Stars

After that, BP Fallon became a publicist for famous bands like Thin Lizzy and T. Rex. He even came up with the word "T.Rextasy" to describe how excited fans were about T. Rex. He also worked and toured with the legendary band Led Zeppelin in the 1970s when they were very popular. During the punk rock music era, he worked with musician Ian Dury.

Radio and DJing

BP Fallon returned to Irish radio in the 1980s. In 1986, he won a special award called a Jacob's Award for his radio show, The BP Fallon Orchestra, on RTÉ 2fm.

In the early 1990s, BP Fallon toured with the band U2. He was their DJ on their Zoo TV Tour. He also wrote a book about his experiences called U2 Faraway So Close. Later, he started a club called "Death Disco" with Alan McGee. This club was in different cities like Dublin, London, and New York. In the 2000s, he continued to DJ for bands like My Bloody Valentine and The Kills.

Music Releases

In December 2009, BP Fallon released his own song called "Fame#9". He worked on this song with Jack White, and it was released on Jack White's record label, Third Man Records. This song was special because the record had three sides! The back side had two separate songs recorded on the left and right parts of the stereo sound.

BP Fallon performed on stage with different musicians. Eventually, he formed his own band called BP Fallon & The Bandits. The band included Aaron Lee Tasjan on guitar, and Nigel Harrison (bass) and Clem Burke (drums) from the band Blondie.

In 2013, BP Fallon & The Bandits released their first album called Still Legal. It was released on their own record label, Vibrosonic Records. Ian McLagan from the band Small Faces also played on the album. In March 2014, BP Fallon performed with the group Ghost Wolves at a music festival called SXSW. He also performed the song Vicious with The Strypes at a concert honoring Lou Reed.

In August 2016, the band released their second album, 'Hot Tongue'. BP Fallon performed the title song on Irish television. He was backed by a group called Emma Lou and the Agenda.
