Thin Lizzy is an Irish hard rock band. They started in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The band was famous for its leader, Phil Lynott (1949-1986). He was the bassist, a songwriter, and the singer. Their well-known song "The Boys Are Back in Town" is still a favorite on classic rock radio stations today. After Phil Lynott passed away, other members of the band have continued to play music using the Thin Lizzy name.
Phil Lynott wrote most of the band's songs. Their music mixed many different styles. These included country music, psychedelic rock, Celtic music, and folk music.
