Baby J's Radio Journey
Baby J started his radio career at WAAA-AM in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He played old school RnB music on the weekends. He quickly learned how to make a radio show successful.
Early Shows and Success
In 1995, Baby J joined WJMH-FM 102 Jamz in Greensboro, North Carolina. He hosted the Over Night Flava show from midnight to 6 AM. He also helped produce their morning show.
In 1999, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina. He started hosting The Breakfuss Club morning show at WWWZ-FM Z93 Jamz. This show became very popular. He also hosted the syndicated MTV Top 20 Countdown on weekends.
Expanding to New Cities
The Breakfuss Club morning show became available in other cities in 2005. It was moved to Providence, Rhode Island, a larger radio market. The show stayed in Providence until 2007. Then, it moved back to Charleston, South Carolina. The show ended in November 2011.
New Adventures in Radio
In December 2011, Baby J began working at WXST-FM Star 99.7. He hosted the afternoon show in Charleston, South Carolina.
In early 2013, he started hosting the Wake Up Show. This was at WFXE-FM Foxie 105 in Columbus, Georgia. In March 2014, he began hosting the Afternoon Traffic Jam. This show aired weekdays from 3 PM to 7 PM.
Leading a Radio Station
On March 16, 2015, Baby J took on a new role. He became the Program Director at WCHZ-FM HOT 95.5/93.1. This station in Augusta, Georgia, was known for "Nonstop Throwback Hip Hop and R&B." He also hosted "Traffic Jammin' with Baby J" on weekdays from 2 PM to 6 PM.
