Badr Benoun (born on September 30, 1993) is a professional footballer from Morocco. He plays as a centre-back, which is a defensive position. Badr is also the captain for Botola team Raja CA. He also plays for the Morocco national team.

Club Football Journey

Starting Out with Raja CA

Badr Benoun began his football career at Raja Club Athletic. He won his first championship with the club in the 2012–13 Botola season. To gain more experience, he was loaned to Wydad de Fès. He played 16 games there before being loaned again to RS Berkane. In 2015, he returned to Raja CA.

Success with Raja CA

Benoun won his second trophy with Raja CA in 2017. They defeated Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi in the 2017 Moroccan Throne Cup, and Badr scored a penalty in the final.

In 2018, Raja CA played in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup. They did very well, winning the cup. This victory earned them a spot in the 2019 CAF Super Cup. Raja faced Espérance Sportive de Tunis in Doha. Benoun scored a goal in the 64th minute, helping his team win another cup. He also helped Raja win the 2019–20 Botola league and the 2019–20 Arab Club Champions Cup. He played five seasons with Raja before moving to Al Ahly.

Playing for Al Ahly

In November 2020, Badr joined Al Ahly, a big club in Egypt. He played for Al Ahly in the FIFA Club World Cup. His team won the bronze medal after beating the Brazilian team Palmeiras. After that, he won the 2020 Egypt Cup, the 2021 CAF Champions League, and the 2020 CAF Super Cup. He even helped Al Ahly beat his old team, Raja, in a penalty shootout to win the 2021 CAF Super Cup.

Time with Qatar SC

In July 2022, Badr Benoun signed a three-year contract with Qatar SC, a club in Qatar.

Back to Raja CA

On May 17, 2025, Benoun returned to his first club, Raja CA. He signed a new two-year contract with them.

Playing for Morocco

Early International Success

In 2013, Badr Benoun won a gold medal with the Moroccan team at the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games. They won the final match against Indonesia with a score of 2–1.

Senior National Team Debut

On October 7, 2017, he played his first game for the Morocco senior team. This was a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Gabon. He came on as a substitute in a 3–0 victory.

World Cup Appearances

In May 2018, Badr was chosen to be part of Morocco's 23-player squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

On November 10, 2022, he was also named in Morocco's 26-player squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
