Art After Hours

One popular event is "Art After Hours." On the last Wednesday of every month, from 6 PM to 9 PM, you can visit the museum for free! It's a great chance to explore the art and enjoy the museum in the evening. They also have "Artists' Studio Tour" events, which let you see where artists create their work.

The Museum Building

The Baker Museum building was designed by a Florida architect named Eugene Aubry. It first opened its doors to the public in 2000.

Repairs and Expansion

The museum had to close for repairs from September 2017 to December 2019 because of water damage from Hurricane Irma. After these repairs, the museum also got bigger! An expansion, designed by Weiss/Manfredi, was finished in 2020. This added about 1,672 square meters (18,000 square feet) of new space. This extra space helps the museum display more art, host more events, and create comfortable areas for people to gather.
