The Story of Balfour
How Balfour Began
Balfour started in 1899. It was founded when the Soo Railroad built its tracks to this spot. The city got its name from Arthur Balfour, who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at that time. A post office has been open in Balfour since 1899, helping people send and receive mail for over a century!
