Ball Club is a small community in Itasca County, Minnesota, United States. It is called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's also a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means the U.S. Census Bureau counts it as a separate area for population statistics.

Ball Club is located inside the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. In 2010, about 342 people lived there. By 2020, the population grew slightly to 354. It sits between two other communities, Zemple and Bena.

The main part of Ball Club is usually thought to be where U.S. Highway 2 and Itasca County Road 39 meet. It's about 21 miles west of a larger city called Grand Rapids.

What's in a Name?

Ball Club got its name from a type of Native American lacrosse stick. These sticks were used in a traditional game similar to modern lacrosse. Most people living in Ball Club are Native Americans from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
