Bangladesh–South Korea relations are the friendly connections between the countries of Bangladesh and South Korea. These two nations work together on many things, like trade and culture. South Korea opened its embassy in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, in 1974. Bangladesh then opened its own embassy in South Korea in 1987.

A Look at Their History

In 2008, the South Korean government made a change to how people from Bangladesh could enter their country. Before this, Bangladeshis did not always need a special permit, called a visa, to visit South Korea.

However, because many people from Bangladesh were staying in South Korea for a while, the government decided to change the rules. From July 15, 2008, people from both countries needed to get a visa to visit each other. This helps both countries keep track of who is entering and leaving.

Bangladeshi Workers in South Korea

Today, more than 13,000 people from Bangladesh work in South Korea. Many of these workers are there for a temporary time. Sometimes, people who move to a new country can face challenges.

A South Korean movie called Bandhobi was made in 2009. This film helped people understand the experiences of Bangladeshi workers in South Korea. It showed how important it is for everyone to be treated fairly and with respect.
