John Baptiste Thunder was an American football player. He was born on February 23, 1891, and passed away on December 17, 1935. He played in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1922 season.
Playing for the Oorang Indians
In 1922, Baptiste Thunder joined a special NFL team called the Oorang Indians. This team was unique because all its players were Native Americans. The Oorang Indians were based in LaRue, Ohio.
The team was coached by the famous athlete Jim Thorpe. Baptiste Thunder himself was a member of the Chippewa tribe. He played as a tackle, which is a position on the offensive line in football.
